Sent Funds Not Reflected in an External Wallet or Exchange

If you have sent a native network token (such as ETH, MATIC, or BNB) from your Sequence Wallet to a centralized exchange or another external wallet, and it hasn't appeared in your account balance, worry not! The token has been successfully sent. The issue lies within the receiving platform, which may not be adequately tracking the type of transaction that occurred.

đź’ˇ Why This Happens: Internal Transactions

Transactions initiated from a Sequence Wallet are often classified as "internal transactions" on the blockchain. This is because every Sequence Wallet functions as a smart contract. When a smart contract initiates a token transfer—even of a native network token—some centralized exchanges may use an inappropriate blockchain indexer that fails to properly recognize or index these internal transactions.

âś… How to Resolve the Issue

In such cases, it is necessary to inform the exchange's support team of this issue and explain that the funds were sent via a smart contract wallet and registered on the blockchain as an internal transaction. Resolving this matter may require manual intervention by the exchange to adjust their indexing mechanisms for the proper acknowledgment of internal transactions.
